How to start iceblocks making business in Nigeria.

Iceblock production and selling is a very small business that yields a lot of profit but it is bypassed here in Nigeria. Nigeria as we all know is a very hot country and there is also electricity problem here in Nigeria. So this is where the iceblock business is really important. In Nigeria ,there is a lot of hustling, everybody are going around looking for
how to make more money as a result of these they are stressed up and they need something cold to drink to make them relaxed. Some of these things include cold water, soft drinks, juices etc. Since there is electricity problem here in Nigeria,so many restaurant owners, pure water sellers ,soft drink sellers look for means to make their products still cold so as to bring customers. So they look for constant supply of iceblocks, these is how iceblock producers make money. Starting these business can be very profiting depending on the location. You can not do these type of business in an estate or place that there is good supply of electricity. The places that will suit these business are rural places, market places and places that there is deficient in electricity supply.

So to start these business you have to consider 3 main factors:
  1. The location of the business: As i said earlier, the location of the business is very important because it is the location that will determine if the business will be profitable or  not. So make sure when setting up this business ,locate it in a place you know there will be high demand for it.
  2. Availability of constant electricity: From the nature of the business, you know you need constant supply of electricity, because the iceblocks after being produce must be maintain still ice so that it wont defrost before customers finish buying it. So in this sense, if the place you business is situated have problems of constant electricity you need to get a complimentary device. It may be a generator, solar panel or an inverter.
  3. Capital: These is important, because you cant just start an iceblock business with a small amount of money, you have to use at least a moderate capital to kick start the business. The capital will be use to rent a store if you are not using your home,to buy iceblock making machines, freezer, generator etc

So above are the major things to consider when starting an iceblock business. So after getting a shop there are some material you have to get for these business. These materials are:

  1. Iceblock making machines: These is the base on starting the business, you have to get these machines because they are the ones that will be producing the blocks for you. The machines vary in different sizes, efficiency and cost but we advice you choose the one that suits you best. To check or order or view the types of iceblock machines click here.
  2. Freezer: Freezers are also very important to get because when you bring newly formed iceblocks from the iceblock machine ,you need to put them in the freezer to maintain them until your customers finish buying them.
  3. Generator: It is important to get a generator ,even if the location of your business have a good supply of electricity because one day there might be a problem and you need a generator for backup. So to avoid  problems it is better to get a generator.
  4. Water proof or sachets: These is where the already produced iceblocks is always stored in,in freezers and also when selling them ,you use these to sell in different quantities to the buyers.
The iceblocks business in Nigeria is very profiting if done well, but try not to rush into it to avoid lose and also plan the business well before getting started. To setup everything is not really complicated compared to other business. After getting your machine, equipment and materials call a good electrician to come and install all the machines then you can start the business with immediate effect.
Remember to publicize the business so that customers can come and the are many ways to do that. You can make a sign board, posters or you can use you local radio station. Use anyone that fits in your budget, you can also as friends ,family to recommend your business to people.
